Odor isn't a smell you can outrun with air freshener — it's particles physically embedded in drywall, insulation, and fabric. Fire Damage Laser Cleaning's Odor Removal specialists in Kirkland, WA match the treatment method — the right deodorization technology — to the smoke classification found during inspection.
Ozone treatment is powerful but requires the space to be vacated during and briefly after; hydroxyl generation is gentler and can run while the property stays occupied. Choosing the right one for your Kirkland property depends on timeline, occupancy, and how deeply the odor has set in.

Treatment starts with finding the actual odor source, not guessing based on which room smells strongest.
Thermal fogging, ozone, and hydroxyl generation are all available, chosen based on occupancy needs and severity.
The longer odor sits untreated, especially in warm weather, the more it bonds into porous surfaces.
We test air quality after treatment rather than relying on how the space smells to the nose alone.
Kirkland customers sometimes ask why a $30 ozone generator from a hardware store didn't solve their odor problem the way a professional treatment does, and the difference usually comes down to both equipment output and knowing which technology actually fits the situation.
A hardware-store ozone generator often lacks the output needed to fully treat a room, which is why the smell tends to return within days.
We've also had Kirkland customers who ran a consumer unit while still living in the home, which reduces effectiveness significantly since ozone works best in a sealed, unoccupied space — a mistake our technicians are trained to avoid by choosing the right technology for occupied versus vacant properties.
Thermal fogging follows the same path smoke traveled, reaching cracks and crevices that surface cleaning misses.
For severe, deeply-set odor, ozone generators break down odor molecules at a chemical level, run in an unoccupied space for a set period.
For occupied homes or businesses, hydroxyl generators treat odor safely without requiring anyone to leave the property.
Encapsulation seals in any odor that couldn't be fully removed from a porous surface like subfloor or framing.
We deodorize the HVAC system directly, since skipping it means treated rooms can smell like smoke again within days.
Curtains, upholstery, and carpet get a dedicated odor treatment pass since fabric holds smoke smell longer than hard surfaces.
Calling +1-866-484-1409 connects you with a coordinator who asks about odor severity and occupancy needs before dispatching.
Our team arrives ready to test for odor source location and begin treatment planning immediately.
The technician identifies the odor source and recommends the appropriate technology, with pricing based on treatment type and square footage.
We test air quality after treatment and won't close the job until readings confirm the odor is actually resolved.
